Hoboken's Roberto Alomar tied Tony Gwynn June 4 for the all-time DMBL lead in hits. In a 5-0 win versus Stanhope, Alomar tied the mark at 1,855 in grand fashion with a three-run homer off Mike Stanton in the seventh inning. He passed Gwynn two nights later when he singled off Harrison's Steve Traschel in the first inning of a 7-3 win at The Landfill.

Barry Bonds was continuing his assault on the record books like Napoleon sweeping through Europe, but now he's looking more like Columbus searching for the West Indies as he enters unchartered territory. The Arkansas outfielder became the first DMBL batter to reach the historic 400-home run mark. The blast came off Hoboken reliever Mike Matthews after the lefty plunked Larry Walker. It was a three-run shot in the third inning of a 9-7 win on May 18. He added his 401st in the fourth inning.

Stanhope's Derek Jeter collected his 1,000th hit when he singled against Newark's Chad Fox in the 7th inning of a May 19 game at The Cereal Bowl.

Mark Grace provided the bulk of Brooklyn's offense with two home runs in a 5-1 win Sunday against Stanhope. His first on the day, off Rick Reed leading off the seventh inning, was No. 100 in his career. His second of the game came off Reed again, in the eighth.

Trevor Hoffman of Arkansas, who lost his closer's job to Octavio Dotel early in the year, has come out of the Golden Falcons dog house for some sharp appearances. He made his ninth appearance of the season May 28, the 391st of his career, to pass John Wettleland for sixth all time. It wasn't memorable otherwise as Hoffman yieled three runs in 1 1/3 innings, despite earning the hold in relief of Pedro Martinez. Arkansas went on to win in 11 innings, 9-7, at Hoboken.
